Brotherly bonding.

Tonight my brother Justin finally played Xbox with me online. I gave him a console about 5 months ago and it's taken this long to get a chance to sit down and play it. And after all this time, there were a few minutes before we got going where we thought his Xbox was broken.

He could hear sound, but had no picture. He disconnected and re-assembled the set up over and over. On the fifth (would-be final) time, it worked. Magically. We never figured out what was wrong. It's almost more annoying to have it work suddenly with no explanation than to just have it be broken. Now there will be the shadow of a doubt every time he turns it on... "will it work this time?"

hmmm, i look huge here...

Anyway, it worked and that's what mattered. He and I, along with Jesse and Chris C (and Ryan for a minute) played Call of Duty 4. I am good at CoD4. Jesse is not bad. Chris C is amazing. And it must have been frustrating for Justin to play with us, or even online at all. There's a learning curve to every game, and even more so when you've not been playing any games at all. So he didn't get many kills, even when we were supposed to be going easy on each other. But people can be dicks, and sometimes we were.

We started out in a private match with just the 4 of us, but eventually jumped into a full-on match with 12 people, and he did alright. Better than when it was a private match. It's also slightly easier with more people, because you (kind of) become less of a target. It was fun.So here's hoping he'll be back to play again.
