Atari and Daycare.

On Friday I made an appointment for Lindsay and myself to get massages. There's been a painful ball of muscle knotted up behind my left shoulder blade all week and I was really, really sick of it. I got a deep, semi-painful massage that seems to have helped, although now other parts hurt a bit, too. But in a good way.

We needed to get to Best Buy to check out some new appliances for our kitchen, and the closest Best Buy to us is the one in the Mall of America. So we went there. Unfortunately, it's also the smallest Best Buy and kind of skips the appliance stuff. But I got a bunch of shirts, a ton of underwear and some pants so it wasn't for naught.

We headed over to the Richfield Best Buy and made it there by 8:30 (they close at 9). This nice, old dude showed us everything we needed to see. It took until 9:45. They were shutting down lights and clearing all the employees out by the time we left. We didn't buy anything, because we had to run measurements by the Contractor, but we found everything we needed.

I was starving by that point, so we stopped at Il Gatto. I got some sweet food and ate the crap out of it.

We spent all Saturday cleaning, with a break in the middle to head back over to Best Buy and actually buy those appliances. So now we have a new dishwasher, stove, refrigerator and microwave/hood.

Later that night we were so sick of cleaning we had to get out so we picked up Ryan and Andres and went to the Artcrank Poster Show in North Minneapolis. It was huge, packed and crazy. It might be the most packed and large art show I've ever seen. Maybe. Lindsay bought two prints, and afterward we met up with Chris S and we all went to Falafel King. Which was totally, amazingly awesome.

We took Atari to Downtown Dogs yesterday. Well, we took Twink and Atari, but some of Twink's paperwork was missing, so he couldn't stay. Downtown Dogs is a day-care for dogs where the dogs are free to run around and play in an open space. We might need to use their services occasionally while we're filming over the next 5 weeks. so yesterday was their test-day, just to make sure they were social and alright with being in a space with a ton of other dogs.

While we were filing out some paperwork, they put Atari and Twink into a holding pen so that they could see/smell the other dogs and get acclimated a bit. But Atari was pretty worried about us being separated, so he whined and fought to get a good view of us. When they found out the Vet hadn't faxed Twink's papers, they took him back out. That made Atari even more worried, so he started whining and really freaking out. As soon as we were out of the building, I could hear Atari start to wail. It was heart breaking and infuriating at the same time.

We took Twink and went to Bad Waitress and had lunch with Adam. We took our time since we had 4 hours to kill, and stopped by a Mexican Bakery to get all sorts of sweet treats. Then we picked up some supplies for our upcoming oil painting class and headed back to pick up Atari. Thankfully, he did quite well and had lots of fun, although he was 'a bit humpy.' He loved it, though, which was great since it was also his birthday!

We spent most of doing the last bit of cleaning that needed to be done. As soon as we were finished, I grabbed my shoes and shorts and went running. After that I played Bad Company 2 with a bunch of people, and started God of War 3, which seems pretty good so far.

Tomorrow the TV show stuff begins, so we're a bit nervous. Mainly just thanks to the pet/hair/dirt situation.
