Iceland: Day 8

The final day in Iceland pretty much doesn't need to be documented. We woke up and checked out of Baldursbra by 9 or 10. Our flight left at 4, so we had about 3 or 4 hours to kill until we needed to catch a bus to the airport.

We wandered around town where we'd already explored on the first day. Both of us were just ready to get on a plane, by this point, so there wasn't a lot of excitement.

Lindsay bought a couple shirts, but for the most part we had no interest in shopping, sightseeing, or doing anything. We sat on a bench and stared at people for a while.

When it got a bit later, we decided we should eat something before getting on a plane, so we found a noodle shop we noticed on the first day. It was so-so, but good enough before a flight.

I grabbed a pastry or two at a nearby bakery, snapped one of the only pictures of both Lindsay and I together from the entire trip (the other being the horrible picture of us with our wind-swept hair at Vatnsborg) and then we jumped a bus to the airport.

The airport was packed, and it sucked. We stood in lines for hours, and made it to the terminal as they were boarding. The airport was nice, but there were so many people waiting for this flight and the next that it was just a sea of people.

The flight was OK, and we were damn happy to be home. The vacation was easily one of the best I've ever taken, but traveling home always sucks. Somebody's got to invent transportation already. C'mon...

We arrived home to thousands of dollars in vet bills, a very sick dog and a really messy house. Huzzah!
