Pain in the ass.
This morning we got up and went straight downtown to apply for our marriage license. That mainly consists of searching around the giant government building/courthouse downtown and filling out forms and waiting around a whole lot. It took all morning and we headed out a little after noon. We stopped by Bad Waitress to have lunch before I went to work and Becky met us there. Francesca tried to, but she walked in as we walked out.
We crossed the road to the parking lot, and stood and stared for a minute as we both processed the fact that my car was not there... it had been towed away. Crap.
Being the middle of the day on a Tuesday, there's not a lot of people to call on. Most people are at work. Our friends who don't have to work, also happen to not have cars. The tow company was in northeast, so it was pretty dang far away...
Eventually we got there, paid the 250 bucks (cash only) to get the stupid car out, and headed home. By that point it was nearly 4, and rush hour had started, so the thought of going to work was long gone.
Instead we went back to Bad Waitress, set up shop, and worked with Francesca and Becky until 6 or 7.
I go the wedding music situation 99 percent sorted out, and sent the files off to Bach, which felt good. Lindsay and I also worked on a little choreography for the wedding, which was ridiculous and serious at the same time.
